    Default Citroen ZX 2.0 16V clean-up

So, I've owned the ZX for two weeks now and I'm finally about to start modding/fixing it now that I know it a little better.

First up a bunch of pics from these first two, very busy weeks with the car.

Then started looking at some ideas and inspiration:

    Headlamps and fogs:

    Lowering, splitter and rim size:

Tinting tail lights and making it look clean:

    New exhaust manifold:

    Day one of ownership:

    Quick little clean:

Fixing the dents with what I had avaliable:

    This shit...:

Having a look at the interior:

    End of day, night cruise:

Day two, road trip 300 miles:

Day three and four, at Norways 306 HQ:

Brake service and wrong bolt pattern dimensions etc on wheels, luckily they had some spares he could sell to me...:

    Shiny 1:

Shiny 2: In the blue 306:

Shiny 3: This is my intake which I'm going to sand down and polish + other bits:

    Pugfest in Norway:

Day seven, finally home, after 1000 miles more driven:

    Week 2:

    17s:

    Slack in drivers seat...:

Oil change/Upgrade from Semi to Fully-Synthetic:

That's a nice location for an overtighted oil filter...:

    Other bits done:
    -New remote alarm/central locking battery.
-New LH foglight, it was a bit foggy....
    -Swithed off start code unit.

    To do this weekend:
-Service and check dampers and springs.
    -Install woofer.
    -Replace dash bulbs etc.
    -Tint windows.

    Plans:
    -Stickers.
    -Lowering.
    -Fix dents.
    -Yellow fogs and highs.
    -Smoke tail-lights.
    -Rear spacers.
    -Painting some small details.
-Make or buy decent looking splitters.
    -Clean up, fix, full respray?

(More might be added in later, gotta go, car meet! )

Just so happened to get the blue one running that day, all of the 6-7 306 at that Admins house that day belonged to only 3 owners

But anyway, went to a car meet and now all of a sudden the roof light and sunroof panels hinges had been broken, so yay, more to fix....

The guy who apparently did it was kind enough to buy me Tec7 at a later time so I can makshift some new hinges...

Also, howmanyleft states there's 11 ZX 16Vs left and 40 SORN in the UK? Hmm....

Sub installed and working! Got cracking today with a full workthrough with every little detail paid attention too, sadly got in a rush in the end, so I'll take more pics tomorrow morning of the install

Starting, digging up the system and planning install:

    Curious, this doesn't look OEM?

Already grommet from earlier systems :

Used wrong grommet, changed it to the other one after realising:

Don't ask why and what about the tools... Amp bolted to seats:

More pictures coming tomorrow from the install and maybe another tidy mod

50 in the UK and about 5 in Norway I believe

Cracked on with some more fixing after a quick visit to the scrapyard.

First of all though, one of my friends brought this tape to a meet, hilarity ensued...

How the trunk is looking atm:

    Wiring for stereo:

The depression bit to open the trunk had fallen off:

Found the bit though! Talk about luck!

The old upper-mounted brake light getting dismantled, broke the LED-strip... :P

New upper-mounted brake light, stole from a 306, is this the same that's on ZX originally, anyone know? Or Xsara?

    Clearance 1:

    Clearance 2:

The only rust on the car, it's coming off later for fixing and also new washer fluid motor:

Depressed where the speaker is, hehe

Hoses and a new washer fluid motor:

Removed the front fender today to get more clearance for fixing dents, one problem though...:

How does one remove the washer fluid reservoir, I should probably try to figure that out before I start putting it together again... Anyone know? xD

Had to chisel off the L-bracket inside the door to get the fender off anyway, because of the dent

That's a fun place to put a washer bottle. At least on the 306 you only need remove the arch liner to get it out.

I noticed another 306 with the same setup on facebook, so I guess it varies with phases or specs or something.

What I noticed though is that the washer fluid motor I have is for the one in the front of the ZX, then there's a smaller motor at the back with 2 smaller exits.

I'm quite certain I can find a Peugeot/Citroen with the same setup/motors, we shall see at a later time.

Best thing to do is check on servicebox and http://service.citroen.com/pages/index.jsp and compare part numbers.

Hello there old friend.... 306 that I bought my angel eyes from and that I was going to buy, but didn't pass MOT + dat camber:

Fruit for my labor, ESPL show/dB-drag

Got a new washer fluid pump from an old Berlingo iirc, now it all works after losing a bit of washer fluid

Dim/burnt green foglight piece, so this was my solution, works for me, can find green translucent tint later or something:

Need to hold front fender outwards to open door, so this is my temp solution

Trying to fix sunroof motor with little success, new one on the way soon from Chris_1990:

And finally, returning these for a refund, they're from my old 306XR (JDM pug project...), money will firstly be spent to fix and service the ZX:

    Comments welcome as usual

No, sadly it isn't mine I probably forgot to mention I spotted it a only a couple of streets away from me!

I am currently getting to know the new owner and have plans of still fixing it up, but for a profit for myself instead of it costing me

It's already out of the budget now with its plates back on, and still lots to fix on it, so that's giving me a profit opportunity now

Summed up: Not mine, getting to know new owner, plans of helping to fix it for him

Magnat Tribal X-four 1000Watt 4-channel amp for speakers, now I need headunit with more RCAs to run this properly (Only front+rear/sub atm)

Removed this preheater contact, because of two reasons: It looks weird to me, and it was probably the cause of my drive belt looking funky, as you can see, the wire protection was also "scrubbed" through, which further confirms my theory of my drive belt being damaged by how the preheater contacts wiring was routed....

It was most likely making contact here, as you can clearly see, routed close to the drive belt and drive belt looking funky:

And of course, before and after:

So happy I removed the pre-heating cable, haha. As you can see, the auxiliary belt has been rubbing against it for some time, hence them both looking funky
I will try and fit it somewhere else and more hidden before the winter though. Will be handy to have for defrosting the windows
